One of the things we care most is making room for people who are just starting out, especially when their stories are rooted here.
On Friday, January 9th, we’re screening Senioritus, a comedy television pilot created by Pearsall filmmaker Caitlyn Rodriguez, followed by a discussion and Q&A.
Senioritus has already begun to make the rounds on the film festival circuit, but we wanted to create space for the film to be seen here, by the community that shaped it.
After the screening, we’ll host a conversation with Caitlyn about the process of making the pilot, developing ideas at a young age, and what it means to pursue creative work coming out of Pearsall.
Then, we’ll screen an early-2000s cult comedy feature film (PG) that served as an inspiration for Senioritus…
This event is open to all. Popcorn and sodas will be on hand for purchase.
